1 Way provide services for the learner driver but also for those who have passed their test already. The services include:

DRIVING ASSESSMENTS
Here at 1 Way School of Motoring we don’t just teach inexperienced people to drive. Many jobs require a driving assessment as part of the interview process and we therefore offer you the opportunity to lose those bad habits you have gained over the years, and can teach you the modern way of driving which will help you with your required goal.
As an example, if you are thinking of applying for a private hire license from your local hackney carriage office, you will have to take a driving assessment. You will only be allowed two attempts at this assessment and they are often conducted by former police instructors or people with similar qualifications. They will be looking for a competent and safe drive. Here at 1Way, we have successfully taught people to the required standard to pass this assessment.

If you have just passed your test the one thing you never had any experience of was driving on a motorway. This can be both daunting and dangerous if you don’t know what you are doing.
The first mistake a lot of new drivers make is to take their time whilst driving on a motorway but in fact, this can be more dangerous. One of the most awkward manoeuvres when driving is overtaking and if you drive at just 40mph on a motorway, you will find that everybody will try to overtake you and it only takes one person to not check their mirrors properly and you could be involved in an accident.
If you choose to have Motorway tuition, you will be taught correct motorway procedures, how to join from a slip road, to safely drive at speeds up to the national speed limit, to safely overtake other vehicles, to exit motorways and to pay attention to all the signs along a motorway.

REFRESHER LESSONS
You may have passed your test and not driven for a while, or lost confidence in driving, whatever the reason, why not have some refresher lessons. These will be done to suit your requirements. They will be done in a relaxed atmosphere, at your own pace and you have as many lessons as you wish. We will aim to build up your confidence and get you back behind the wheel of a car.

MOCK TESTS
Here at 1 Way we offer our pupils the chance to have some mock tests before taking the real thing. You will be taken to a test centre then taken on a drive around a set route. This will be conducted under test conditions and using test terminology and at the end you will be told if you would have passed or failed had it been the real thing. You can have as many mock tests as you like and these will be conducted as part of your normal driving tuition. We will normally conduct a couple of tests before you book your driving test as nerves can play a big part in your drive, especially during your first test.
If you are taking your lessons with another driving school, ask them if they will mock test you, as not all instructors offer this service. If your instructor does not conduct mock tests, then why not give us a ring. Please remember your first test may not go according to plan so don’t wait until a week before your actual driving test before you ring.

There is no test at the end of it – your driving will be continually assessed and you must successfully complete all the modules in the course to an achieved or exceeded standard:
|
|
·
|
achieved – successfully reached the standard required for each of the competencies
|
|
·
|
exceeded – exceeded the required standard for each of the competencies

In exceptional circumstances, if a module can't be done on the road it will be covered in a theory session. The highest level you can reach is 'achieved' as you've not been able to demonstrate the relevant practical skills.
Don’t worry if you haven’t got a car at the moment, you may be able to defer the discount for up to two years. Again, check with your insurance company.
If you passed your test more than a year ago you should check that you’ll be eligible for the discounts on offer from your insurance company before you take the course.

PRIVATE HIRE LICENSE TRAINING

The test will be approximately 40 minutes long and you will need to show some consideration and care for both passengers and other road users as well as showing good car control. Any breach of Road Traffic Legislation will result in failure.
